No risk of decommitment for Bulgaria in 2012

There is no danger for Bulgaria to lose Structural and Cohesion funds in 2012 due to the automatic n+3/n+2 decommitment rule. The statement was recently made by Renaldo Mandmets, Head of Unit Bulgaria, DG REGIO on the occasion of the seventh meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the National Strategic Reference Framework 2007-2013. The meeting focused on the financial progress of Bulgaria's operational programmes, as well as on their performance forecast until the end of the current programming period. According to the Bulgarian EU Minister Tomislav Donchev 95% of the funds have already been committed and approx. 1/3 are under implementation. The Minister also mentioned that payments amounted to 31% of the total volume, while EUR 2 billion (or 25% of the budget ) were certified payments.
