Exchange of views with Commissioner J. Hahn and with Danish Minister N. Wammen

On its meeting of 29 May 2012 the Committee on Regional Development will hold an exchange of views on the latest developments concerning the Legislative Package for Cohesion Policy with Mr Johannes Hahn, Commissioner on Regional Policy and an exchange of views on the state of play of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU with Mr Nicolai Wammen, Minister for European Affairs.

The exchange of views with the Commissioner is scheduled for 11.00-12.30. The exchange of view with Mr. Wammen is scheduled for 17:30-18:30.

Bulgarian authorities and Commissioner Hahn discussed the uptake of EU funds

On 29 November Bulgarian ministers presented a plan to increase the use of structural funds in the field of environment. The plan covers the accelaration of investments in the water and waste treatment, expanding the scope to new priorities like energy efficiency, for instance district heating, as well as urban transport. Major infrastructure projects (i.e. the Struma Motorway) have also been raised.

Commissioner Hahn and Portuguese authorities: talk on possible redistribution of funds to job-creating sectors

Full press release below: 21/11/2011 Commissioner Hahn went to Lisbon on 17 and 18 November to discuss with several representatives of the Portuguese Government the state of play on cohesion policy in Portugal. He raised with them the possibility of redefining and reprogramming some of the funds for sectors with the potential for generating growth and creating jobs.

Action Plan for Greece

On 21 September Greek authorities and Commissioner Hahn concluded an action plan to improve the use of EU structural funds in Greece. The action plan consists of two major pillars: 1) Drawing up of a list of viable and high quality projects in order to make maximal use of the remaining allocation( ~€15 billion Euro).
